Hi,

I am thinking about buying a second hand xbox 360.

My question is can I create a new user account (or whatever they are called) on Xbox live, or do I need to use the account that the original owner set up?

Many thanks

You can create your own, I would be more worried about how much was left on the warranty tbh.
Agreed, find out when it was manufactured and purchased.
Seconded... and does it come with the receipt for proof of purchase, in case you need it.

I would avoid buying a second hand one, most of the people on my friends list have had to replace theres. The newer 360s seem a lot better put together. I think it is worth paying a bit extra for piece of mind.

I have to agree. I want a second 360 for upstairs but even though the econd hand ones are cheap I am dubious about getting one.
However ........ SOME retailers in the high street of second hand games and consoles DO give you a 12 month warranty on them. But you only save £30 on the RRP of a new one that way.

Just found them in the highstreet for £249.99 brand new which is as cheap as the second hand ones. The secondhand stuff always seems so overpriced.
