Would this monitor be a good fit for my current setup?

Intel Core i5 8600K
Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1070 Ti 8192MB

I have been using a Dell U2311H (IPS) for many years, playing Assassin's Creed, GTA etc, and I get quite a bit of tearing; I am looking forward to Red Dead Redemption 2. So I am really looking for a good G-Sync monitor, and I think I am happy with 1080p. My existing Dell monitor has good viewing angles though (178/178), better than the PG258Q (170/160). How important is that? I only use the monitor sitting directly in front of it at a desk, mainly for games, so I guess VA does not matter?

Any other recommendation I should consider?

Thanks

Should be fine mate. 1080p might look a little pixelated and the TN panels don't give a good colour reproduction, but if you're playing fast paced games, that might never be an issue. If you are worried about the colour reproduction, look for an IPS panel.

Is the PG258Q an 8bit panel? If it is I wouldn't worry about colour, it'll be fine and have the added bonus of great motion handling. if it's 6bit +FRC I'd avoid it.
