Buying Advice Please

Erm, at a computer.
My computer stopped working a few weeks ago. Basically my brother was playing a game, got a BSOD, shut itself down and then would not turn on again.

I tried clearing the cmos, re-seated the cpu, tried starting without sound card etc, then just got annoyed and took it up the shop.

He has just rang me and reckons my Mobo is definately knackered, and possibly my cpu as well.

Basically my system was;

Q6600 ( Go stepping )
Gigabyte DS3R
Tuniq Tower


What would be the best kit to replace with. I dont want to be spending silly money, but about £100 on the mobo, and £150 on the cpu.

Any advice appreciated.
 
Can't go wrong with the new P45 chipset based mobos (this one)

But sure the CPU is gone? Could always try it on new mobo before committing :)
