I am considering buying Aion, but would very much like to try it out before I purchase it on Steam.

Is there a Trial out at the moment? All I can find it a demo Refer a Friend, similar to world of warcraft, where an existing member can sign into their account and send a 3 day demo serial.

Anyone willing to do this? if I sign up for the full game, you get a month free.

That only lets you get to level 7 or whatever.

But I still have an active account even though I quit so if you give me your name / email I can invite you

Check official forums or aionsource and see what people say about Aion before you actually spend your hard earned money. While this game is addictive and looks and plays nice the first 20 levels you are going sooner that later release that the game is nothing but massive grind. I played the game and done all content and know what I am talking about. Aion should be a free to play game imo as GMs in EU servers are only a myth so is support from Nsoft.
Just my 2 cents.

People at Aionsource are a bunch of QQ cry babys.

Aion is for you if you like

Korean style games
If you like a few instance end game, with fortress sieges a couple of times a night (big zerg fests)
Good crafting system however some people find it frustraiting due to stuff having to proc (trying to craft a green item when you want a blue can work first time can work 100th time)
Botting - there is lots of it and you may find some areas hard to complete quests in.
Abyss - this is the main PvP point of the game (suppodily) Best exp at the levels here however you have loads of high levels ganking the lowbies, to be fair though its fun making people rage.
It is not easy to get to 50. They are making it easy with double exp weekends and stuff but the last bit you will have to grind. About 6 weeks ago I hit end game when there was hardly anyone in the area I leveled in and I was getting %5 per 1 hour 30 I think it was.

Yes I'm still playing and I still love it.

leveling up to 30 is fine, after 30 the number of quests start to drop and the exp given for each quest doesn't scale up well with the exp you need to level. I think from 35+ you will end up spending 10 hours a level of pure grinding.
