buying an 05 R6

im not an owner of that model, but in general lookout for any corrosion esp around the rear shock/swingarm area and check for binding brakes/steering head bearings should feel smooth from lock to lock

listen for any rattles/tinkles from the engine ect,use those as a haggling tool to drop the price,

how much mileage has it done and any service history?

you'll be fine with that mileage id still inspect for any corrosion though around the wheels and shock/swingarm

but tbh it will be fine

had that year r6 and the 2 models before 5sl and 5eb.
watch out for hesitation on take off. ( injestion issues) and cam chain rattle.
clutch rattle can be an issue but not as musch as the cam chain also known as Yamaha tick.. google it

they are quick and fun, i did commute on mine for 5 months goinf 50 miles aday..
i didnt find it that comfortable when on the track either.
all r6's seem to have chocolate gear boxes.
i know i sounds like its all bad but it really isnt. just dont let it egg you on all the time... i do prefer the r1 though but that also wants to egg you on all the time...

test ride 1 , make sure no weird noises , makes sure the gears work fine and enjoy it:)
