Buying an inactive domain

Looked it up via whois.com but the email is no longer active, how do sites like domainagents.com get in contact with them? Anyone gone through this?

I contacted the registrar for a client and asked them to forward an offer on one that had dead contact information.

I guess the other option would be a bit of detective work see if you can find the owners contact details elsewhere. If you want a hand with it trust me the domain. I'm rather bored at the moment .
