lol :D

Thats a good price though!

but ideally i want a huge battery life for the occasional long/depressing train journey especially (when i'm fed up of driving!)

Get a Creative Vision; 30 or 60gb version. Nine hour mp3 playing time on battery or 3-4 hour on video.

Much better picture quality than an Ipod and plays more video formats out the box without converting than the Ipod.

I'm checking out some of the archos ones too, especially the 404. Its a shame some of them don't have changable batterys and reasonably priced to buy batterys so you can just switch them around when one runs out. Still researching!

iriver clix 4gb, good battery
iriverter software, converts a 4.7gb dvd to about 330mb

Cowon iAudio A2

Superb video player, good battery life while playing videos. Handles lossless audio very nicely too.

lots of options. depends on screen size, storage space ect.

i just got an cowan/iaudio d2, awesome little mp3 player. 4gb internal memory, sd slot thats now compatible with sdhc cards, people are using 8gb cards with them no problems. 2.5" 16million colour touch screen, 50 hour music playback, 10 hours video and 76mw per channel. it is such an incredible little player.

much better than the clix;)

This was my answer to battery life for my Creative (last gen, pre-video, so can't say if this works on the new ones). The battery came out without tools so I just took to carrying a spare, which cost me £4 off That Auction Site. Worked a charm.

That screen looks bigger than the iPod video screen there!

Anyway do not buy an iPod for video playback, it's fine except the battery life on it.

The 30gb is only something like 2-3 hours.
