Buying an unwanted upgrade

Hi ,
I have seen loads of these advertised , and that is unopened, unwanted upgade iphone 4's , question is if it is on the network that you require and the price is right and also it is unopened is there any risk that it wouldn't activate for you or any other pit-falls you can think of.

If its unopened it will be effectively unlocked anyway I believe. Can't see there being a problem tbh.
