Buying Bioshock 2... Steam? or buy the disc?

Morning all, i'm looking to buy Bioshock 2.

I can buy it through Steam, or buy the disc...

Any advantage or benefits of going for one method over the other?

ive read of a few problems regarding the games for windows live thing causing some people a few problems, would buying through steam be any better in this case?

I had no problems with the disc or actually i did.. i didnt have to activate it or enter a cd key lol

think it comes down to how lazy you wana be go out to find it or sit at home and let it DL

i'm on virgin 20mb so downloading isnt a problem... the game is currently £30 on steam.... anyone know how much it is in stores? game etc? i'd look on the websites, but i want instore prices lol, on internet sales prices...

Well it's ~£24 online so probably £28-£30 on the highstreet (total guess though)

Order the disk online mate, cheapest way and most places do next day delivery.

I bought the special edition of the game for £39.99. It comes in a big box with a LP and CD of the game music, some posters and a nice book - oh and the game

The book has artists sketches of all the characters and scenery and is quite good but not sure it's worth the extra cash.

Don't forget that with Steam, you have no chance or reselling the game. With a disc, afaik, you should be able to.

EDIT: I can't find a reference to anything like this. Can you provide a link? This link - http://news.spong.com/article/20530/BioShock-2-PC-has-Three-Types-of-DRM seems to state otherwise...

i think i'll buy the disk, can be had for £5 less than steam, and i get the disc etc too.

When weighing up the cost also consider that the Steam version has no resale value.

I brought the disc, and have installed it. But will be quite a while before I play it, as Call of Pripyat is talking all my time up

just checked int he other thread, apparantly BS2 does not bind to steam.

It will however need a GFWL login
