Buying CSS on steam

I'm banned from a few servers.
Is it the a/c thats banned?
Will buying the game on steam allow me to play on those servers that I was previously banned from?

If it says you're banned by VAC (Valve Anti Cheat) then yes, you're banned from all VAC secured servers and will need to buy a new account to play on them. However you can still play on servers without the anti-cheat running.

If you're only banned from only a few servers then it's most likely just the admin(s) who've banned you from their servers.

Usually you are banned by steam id from individual servers, although some servers may ban by IP address.

So if you buy the game again on a new steam account, you may still be banned if it is an ip ban.
