Hello,

When i did a UK search for the noctua nh-u12p CPU cooler and found it saying £30 when you go on this thing its says $60. America, use amazon checkout just enquiring:)

What are the disadvantages here? Will i be charged import tax etc

Seem a bit weird?

Thanks

(Hope this hasnt broken any of forum rules (have read promotion bit) just a query but If so please let me no and i will change it immediately)

Officially you will be charged import tax etc. on any purchase over £18. Some outfits who you buy from are shall we say "erratic" with the paperwork. If they tell customs the item is worth less than £18 you have nothing to pay regardless of the true cost of the item, conversely if they tell customs it is worth £200, then you are liable for duty & tax on that amount.

In general, if you can source what you want from the eU, then you should!!

Unfortunately C&E come up with their own estimate of the objects value, they don't just believe the label. There are a few ways around it though... (engineering samples, warranty replacements to name 2)

On relatively low value items it's the customs handling charge from the carrier that gets you (£10+) rather than the actual import duty and Vat.

Also if your price comparison site is converting $60 into £30 then it's rather out of date. At current exchange rates $60 is something just over £40.

Yea I just realised the 60$ comes about £41. I think Its a no go as also unsure on the amazon check out an by the time o
P&P added probably me more=]].
