Buying from CPW

I'm going carphone warehouse online to buy the Sony Xperia U.
(I don't want advice on what other phone I should get)

I know that they sell phones Unlocked (I.E. you can use any networks SIM card in it) Does anyone know if it be unlocked if I did buy it via their website?

I just bought a One S when they had the PAYG deal on. £70 cheaper than the sim-only price. I think it can vary according to the PAYG topup you buy. I first looked in the forums where a staff member had said all One S' are unlocked but I decided to phone and check. The girl I spoke to on the phone said that Orange ones are always locked and branded, Three ones were always locked (I think), T-mobile ones were branded but not always locked, and O2 ones were never locked or branded. Guess which I bought

In short, why don't you call them and ask. If you get a branded or locked one just ask to swap it? Should be even easier since you bought it online.

All phones from CPW are unlocked - or at least that's what the sales person told me and have got 3 phones from them so far, all unlocked. (It's also a reason why I got to them, I hate the word Orange or stupid logo on my phone!)
