Hi.
Am tempted to buy Sigma 35 from Amazon France as it is cheaper by over £100 than anywhere in UK..
And as it is EU, it would not be considered as gray would it ?
Am having no Luck in finding one on second hand market so need to find new one...

Check the sigma website. Sigma has a global warranty I believe and so the is no such thing as grey sigma?

To OP you'll be fine buying it from amazon.fr and registering in the UK for the one year warranty, if it was bought from amazon uk it'd be 3 years.

Yeah, I did some googling and with sigma you will get 1 year international warranty, if you buy in the UK you will get a longer UK warranty.

You could Laos register the lens with sigma France and get a 3 year French warranty, just means you would have to send the lens to France for repair.

Buy from Switzerland and you get lifetime warranty + free yearly checks with Sigma.

Current price is 719CHF for Canon fit or 699CHF for Nikon fit.

Haven't tried it yet, but am told this covers Europe (not international) with the ability to use local repairer rather than being forced to return to Switzerland. Worst case is you have to send it back to retailer... worth it though, IMO, for cheaper purchase price and elongated warranty.

That's 485GBP for Canon or 472 for Nikon... so cheaper than Amazon.fr

The OP will end up having to add the difference in VAT though. Actually what you should be able to arrange is to get the Swiss VAT removed (7%) and then will pay UK VAT upon importing, plus handling charges.

Haven't thought of VAT when buying from EU...

No VAT from EEC.

Switzerland isn't part of the agreement... I forgot about that... still similar price to France with UK VAT I think + longer warranty.

If you buy it in Switz for personal use, then you can take it over the border without any trouble or extra tax, but if you order from outside then you'll likely get stung for it.

Why not just list them.

Only ones that are dedicated computer retailers would be against the rules.

The two I would recommend are competitors, they just happen to sell photography gear and a few other things too... these are more dedicated to computer bits than the rainforest and we're not able to say the rainforest name for something un-related... that's why.

Especially interesting when you see them selling brand new Titan-X cards for 650 quid ;)

Spoke to one of the shipe and they said they have never been playing to UK...
Need to check the other one but not having any hopes ...
Might have to get it from France
