Hey,

I'm a Dell UK Home customer and a owner of a Dell XPS M1530, I made a mistake of purchasing the laptop without any insurance as it is expensive and what-not and loosing it would be a major pain to me.

So I was wondering, is it possible to buy the insurance from Dell after the laptop has been bought, I'm mainly looking for something that comes accidents as well as thieft, but I can settle for accidents only.

Any ideas or advice would be helpful, thanks guys.

Don't you have house contents or posessions insurance? It works out far cheaper than these insurance schemes that are just for a single item - like your laptop, or mobile phone.

I have a similar query.

I have a dell vostro which came with a 1 yr warranty. After that warranty is up, is it possible to purchase an extended warranty from dell?

I just ordered a Vostro and couldn't find out where to add accidental damage insurance or how much it costs.
There are two things to consider:
* extended warranty
* accidental damage and theft.
The second can be purchased on-line from a number of places (google laptop insurance) but if Dell are reasonably competitive then buying from them makes some sense especially alongside warranty. Saves any arguments about whether the hard drive broke because of accidental damage (insurance) or premature failure (warranty).
