Buying Liverpool tickets

I'd like to take my son to a Liverpool game (home or away) for his 11th birthday but having never been to a match or bought tickets before, it seems it's closed doors unless you buy into some membership or fan club where you have to be a repeat purchaser. Is this correct or is there a method of someone just buying tickets to watch one game?

Apologies for the noob q but I don't really follow football myself.

Tickets for the Europa League game with Sparta Prague next thursday are on general sale; you can buy them online now.

Other than Europa League games, you've got little to no chance of getting tickets I'm afraid.

Ed try making a post on RAWK ticket forum section, i'm not sure what the chances are but someone might be able to sort you out for Birmingham later in the season, just booked my tickets last night, some decent availability in mainstand and annie road end.

The tickets for the game against sparta prague are £24 each and are on general sale , this will probably be the best chance you have of getting to a game .
