Buying more digitally?

Never buying digital games because of NO RESELL VALUE.
Only those on sales and when retail is not available.

And excuse of no time to messing with changing discs? ROFLMAO for crying it loud....5 seconds?

For consoles I much prefer a hard copy. If you're clever with your trade in's you can save a wedge on new releases.

All digital except the Rock Band which came with the "instruments".

As i have 2 consoles and the wife sometimes plays as well its far cheaper than it used to be last gen.

On 360 it was 2 copies of BF3 2 copies of Premium and 2 live subs(or family sub) even at the cheapest that was over £200.

On Xbox One One Live sub and one EA access sub total less than £70, ok i bought premium before it was free so say £100 in total.

I never used to trade in games anyway (i still have around 100 360 titles on a shelf)

Digital has worked out well for me.

single player story games that I'm likely to finish and never touch again I'd buy on disc usually
games that you can just have a quick game like Fifa, UFC etc I'd buy on digital

but sometimes I've ended up buying digital as it was on offer, Uncharted 4 was under £30 I think as a download

I bought Forza 6 from ebay recently, second hand delivered £20 quid. Digitally it's still selling for double that..

I get a great deal and the guy that sold it gets some cash back too now he's bored of the game. Win win for us both.

If the guy had bought it digitally, he'd have been stuck with it and no re-sale value.

Bought digital copies of Forza + Gears ultimate for like £40 (bundle) in a sale so £20 each.
If you buy in sales you can often spend the same as buying a hard copy minus trade in.

Honestly as I have lots to play I would rather wait for a digital copy of new games in a sale.

I prefer physical for consoles. Not much choice on PCs, I only really buy physical for Collector's Editions and stuff. Otherwise I prefer having a stack of game boxes I can feel smug about.

My entire PC collection is digital. I have bought the odd physical PC game when it's been cheaper than the digital version. I think the last physical game I bought was Rage, which was required Steam anyway.

Consoles I buy physical apart from the odd game that is digital only like Resogun and R-Type Dimensions.

Even some digital only games are getting physical releases via Limited Run Games.

Before I sold my Xbox One I had around 15 games that were all physical copies and I'll do the same for PS4 too.

xbox everything digital due to cheap price, get games cheaper then physical copy

ps4 no chance i'm paying them prices :(

How much cheaper though? I know local digital pricing is ridiculous but are foreign prices cheaper than the local physical ones?

That doesn't make sense. The majority of foreign digital prices are more expensive than disc.

Well, the pound is quite weak now so it's no way near as good as it was, and in some cases it's not even worth it like you say. But before it was usually saving about £10-15 depending on the game - from what I remember.

I've bought from US, South Africa, Russia and Mexico before.

Most of the digital games I buy are ones I know I wouldn't sell, but if I was getting a single player game that will be completed in 10-15 hours, I'd get physical so I can sell it on (like Quantum Break for example).

I didn't know things were cheap on the xbox, might have to look into getting one.

example

Gears of war 4

Amazon £40
Tesco £40
Smiths Toys £41
Shopto £45

beat that price digital on xbox store

EDIT: Microsoft should create a marketplace to sell digital games, put up games for sale and allow people to bids, once completed transfers to new owner :)

should be really easy to create, maybe need to add a small fee

I don't buy many digital games as most of them are overpriced and you can't sell the game once your bored of it.

I agree with this and I still can't understand why digital is so expensive. However, with 2 Xbox One consoles and 2 boys (plus me) I find myself buying more and more digital games so they can play together.

I buy the game via my account and as long as I'm signed in, they can both play the same game together. It's frustrating that the way sharing is setup, all three of us can't play together, but then it prevents me from spending £££ buying a 3rd console - so maybe it's a blessing.

How is everything cheap? Forza horizon 3 is 50 quid digital it's average age is 38-42 online and if you can access Microsoft own expert zone it's 25 quid which just proves they over charge on digital releases
