I currently have 4GB of DDR3 RAM and I'm looking into getting more. I found a website that is very good about telling you what RAM to get but seems quite expensive. They said that my computer can hold the following.

Each memory slot can hold DDR3 PC3-10600, DDR3 PC3-8500, DDR3 PC3-16000, DDR3 PC3-12800, DDR3 PC3-14900, DDR3 PC3-17000 with a maximum of 4GB per slot.*
*Not to exceed manufacturer supported memory.

I was looking about getting 2x4GB pieces of RAM, would you say it's worth the money?

If so what RAM would you recommend? I'm not looking for anything too expensive, just something that will do its job and not break on me!

Thanks :)

Ok cool, it will take the one's I linked to then.

Is it worth it? Depends what the main use for your computer is I guess, but it's nice to have that much should you ever need it for some reason - I have 8GB myself.

i had 8GB in my last gaming pc & for 2 years the most that got used out of it was 3.3GB,this is why i only have 4GB in my newly built sandy bridge PC. :)

btw i was & still using a 64bit windows.

I consider 8gb (2x4gb) as a minimum memory spec now.
As DDR3 is cheap, 8gb is the amount I install in any builds I do for friends.

My own pc has W7 64 & 8gb memory, & with photoshop it uses every bit of it.

When I jumped from 4gb to 8gb it made the pc feel more responsive.

get 8gb of the corsair xms ram, plays well with most things. Or get the kingston deal going on later today.

I have 8gb in my desktop at home and it's pretty sprightly.

Photoshop eats memory, but if its used for gaming then theres no need to spend the money.

Was wondering if i should bother upgrading to 8 gig as i only use my pc for gaming guess you answered that here cheers, but do you think 4gb will be enough for battlefield 3 my pc runs BFBC2 fine. obviously will b getting a new gpu tho.
