buying my first laptop and i know naff all, help?

Im buying a laptop for my girlfriend but i have a problem, i know naff all about laptop specs! So it would be greatly appreciated if anyone could give me a few recommendations.
Budget of £500.
She basically wants a laptop for day to day use, really nothing specific.
The laptop she uses at the moment is her mums ancient block with a screen.
The only thing she requires is "cos i have no idea and i want a fair bit of hard drive but not loads that i'll never fill if you know what i mean."

The lower the price the better seenas she has no demanding needs.

You could get a laptop with a spec like 320Gb HDD, 2Ghz Dual core and 2Gb ram for £360.

The ones you've suggested are similarly specced, just smaller hard drive really

Im also quite useless with laptop advice though, bought one 2 years ago and it was stolen within a year lol, insurance money went into a desktop haha

haha, i think im gonna get her that dell. it will be plenty enough for her.
haha, being robbed is never nice....but it can sometimes have its benefits!
