Most likely going to buy a Suzuki GSX S125 new from a dealership whilst there is £500 off list price.

Would I be being reasonable in asking for a discount on a top box if purchased at the same time?

Emailed the dealer and he said come and have a look and he'll make sure it's the right deal. Just want an idea of what to ask for.

Same dealer does have used models too so may yet but second hand but not sure if they would still discount a top box then.

Cheers

No harm trying. Got mine new from the dealer and they did me a good deal on my jacket, pants, gloves and helmet, probably saved about £150-£200 on gear

I asked for a discount on givi stuff fromfthe dealer i bought from and they said they couldn't and you could probably buy it cheaper online than what they could do. Which was true :p

Clothing etc was about 10% off

Being Manchester based which dealership did you go to?

I'm heading to Robinson's in Rochdale as they stock a big range. Failing that I'll head over to Rochdale Honda to see what they have too.

Had a CB125F before getting knocked off at Xmas so it's to replace that bike. Will either get another secondhand or a nicer 125.

In Dutch there is an expression, it goes like this:

"Nee heb he, ja kun he krijgen"

This roughly translates to "you've always got a no, but you can try for a yes".

Or skipping all the rubbish, it won't hurt to ask. I always ask for free stuff. Always.

What for gear etc? Or bikes?

I used to live in Rochdale so know Robinson's well. Selection is ok. Rochdale Honda don't have much upstairs at all.

Bought my cbf125 off Rochdale Honda years ago. Nearly bought a new NC750x off them but due to my big milage it didn't make sence so bought a year old one from Youles Manchester (Cheetham Hill Road, Triumph dealer) They're good too.

I don't know anywhere with a great selection of gear. J&S? Never been though. Need some new textiles soon so might pay a visit.

Edit - sorry misread your post like a Muppet :p Yer both are great. Just go to whoever has the bike you want :)

How did you get on at the dealership then? Manage any discounts

Emailed a few of the local dealers, one was very vague and said he'd make sure a deal worked for me. Later found out that only Shad make a top box for the GSX R125/S125 at the moment and they arn't cheap eitherway.

Found another CB125F at a decent price, asked about discount and all have just told me the actual price for the top box rather than offering an additional discount.

Going to take a little longer thinking about it and decide what to do. Part of me wants a fairly new 125 for around £2k used and another part wants something fancy like the GSX at £3.3-3.5k.

Realistically I think I'll get something used that won't drop it's value much as can see myself doing my DAS sooner rather than later really.
