Hey OCUK,
So I'm fairly new to cycling, I've got a mountain bike I use to commute to work, along with a little off-roading some weekends. It's 21 speeds, 3 main chain rings and a 7 cassette.
I'd love to get a road bike but I'm in a crappy living situation at the moment that permits me to one bike. Currently I'm finding myself maxing out a little too easy on flats, some minor
inclines and downhill during my commute to and from work. I was thinking of purchasing a 10 cassette and a new shifter for my bike in hopes I could get a little more speed out of if.
Since I pretty much know zilch about bikes I was hoping someone could help me with this purchase, make sure I'm not overlooking anything etc.
So I've seen this Shimano SLX 10 speed cassette which I'm thinking of purchasing I'll get a new chain too. I know I'll need a 10 speed shifter, I've not decided which yet. Is there anything
I'm missing?
edit: Forgot to ask about the teeth the whole 11-32, 11-36 etc, will this work with my chain rings attached to the crank or will I need to count the teeth to make sure they match up?
