OK looking at ordering a PC after just selling my house, I looked at doing this much earlier but my house sale took around 7 months longer than I imagined.

So I was looking at ordering this http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FS-421-OE&groupid=43&catid=2475&subcat=2488

But adding a second 290X, then i did some further research and discovered the stock coolers suck and there isn't an alternative at the moment. Rang up Overclockers briefly earlier and was told liquid cooling was likely to be very difficult with that case.

So I can either wait, which is going to be tough with all the sales over xmas, and my PC has pretty much had it now, order this as it is with stock cards, or buy an alternative, which brings me to this http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FS-368-OE&groupid=43&catid=2475&subcat=2488

Water cooled 290x, BUT doesn't give the option for a second one, I really fancy crossfire as I haven't done it before, and I run 3 monitors in eyefinity, so fancy the extra grunt.

Yeah I could build something, but I really can't be bothered and don't really have the time, budget is around £3000, but I could go a little over if needed.

I'm sat here hovering over buy it now on the first PC with two standard 290x in it....

Help!

Non-reference 290Xs shouldn't be too far off. If you're willing to build it yourself, you can start buying parts while you wait.

If you do decide to build your own, make a thread in the General Hardware section to get some recommendations. A £3000+ budget will make Ethermaster and the gang very happy.

Well if you went with the second option and water cooled a single 290x you have the option of adding another 290x down the line. Depends on if you can wait for late January with custom cooled 290Xs or if you want to wait for a second 290x down the line.

-Edit
Also Fulax's recommendation is pretty good too :)

Would the second one take a second water cooled 290X? it doesn't list it as an option so assumed it may not be possible?

One option I just considered is buying the first one with one 290X, when the none ref cards come out, selling it and buying two of those?

Though two water cooled 290x would fix the issue now.

Wouldn't mind building my own Fulax, have no issues doing it, just time is an issue, have 3 kids, run one business, starting a second, xmas, Nans just gone into a hgome and have 2 weeks to clear her entire house, etc etc, I just don't have the time for it right now.

Could you call OcUK and ask them to do you the first build without a GPU, and add your own when non-reference models are available? You'd have to wait a couple of weeks until you could really unleash your new rig, but from the sound of things you won't have much time for gaming during that time anyway.

EDIT: There is space in the Scimitar to fit another watercooled GPU, but you'd have to take the loop apart and add to it yourself.

I was the one who was pricing one up in Oct last year to buy around 6 months later, its a bit later than that as like i said in original post, house sale took much longer than anticipated.

Still in same position, but I already got monitors etc sorted, just need the tower, so looking at around 3 grand, could go higher if need be, but don't want to spend much more unless I need to.

Just saw posted on here though that better cooled cards are coming next week :)
