Long story short, I've got a budget of £400 to put an office system together for where I work.
The boss has little or no clue as to what he wants, he only knows that a basic business system from *hell* will cost him the above figure.
I've just upgraded my machine and have lots of little bits left over, I have:
Gigabyte GA-MA74GM-S2H
AMD Athlon X2 7850
Corsair 400W PSU
My current machine I have:
Phenom II x4 945 95W clocked to only 3.45 on a h50
Biostar TA790gx3 mobo
Kingston Hyperx 6400 CL4
ATI 5850
Now, I know I can pretty much make a system for a hundred quid using my old bones, but the budget is there to be used. So.. I'm looking to buy around £350 worth of hardware to use, but some of it "might" slip in to my PC.
I was thinking of
Gigabyte GA-890GPA-UD3H AMD 890GX (Socket AM3) DDR3 Motherboard £104.97
Corsair XMS3 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit £61.09
(Hmm, seems a bit overkill for a word processor and farmville machine.. might have to find it a better home)
OCZ Vertex 2E 60GB 2.5" SATA-II Solid State Hard Drive £99.99
(Every office machine needs an SSD.. right?.... honest... This might also fall in to my PC)
Samsung SpinPoint F4 320GB SATA-II 16MB Cache - OEM £30.54
(This will be for the work machine)
Asus TA-D31 Case - Black £28.99
(and so will this)
Sub Total : £277.09
Shipping : FREE
VAT : £48.49
Total : £325.58
Will give the boss a:
Gigabyte GA-MA74GM-S2H
AMD Athlon X2 7850
Kingston Hyperx 6400 CL4
Corsair 400W PSU
Samsung SpinPoint F4 320GB
Asus TA-D31 Case
Generic DVD drive pulled out of old machine
And a few healthy upgrades for my machine. Chuck the Biostar GX3 back on the MM for a few quid.
Any suggestions mostly on the mobo/ram combination. Also is the SSD any good. Looks too good to be true only being a smidge over what the 40GB versions are.
Cheers
