I'm currently looking to buy Bioshock, Mass Effect and Gears of War (I missed the first two out the first time round) in their original boxes but I cannot seem to find anywhere decent that has them in stock.

Any ideas?

A well known auction site is where I pick up my second hand games.
I got Gears of War a while ago for £9, Bioshock for £10, Mass Effect for £8 etc.

I'd rather they were new. I'm pretty anal when it comes to the condition of my games.

If I have to though I guess I can have a browse for mint condition games :(

I have to admit, I wouldn't mind a tinker on Gears of War, only played it for 30mins at the Wales LAN and would like to carry on with it, but I too haven't seen anywhere that has it in stock.

As for the other two though, and ignoring pre-owned, I've seen them quite often, but obviously can't say where other than high street stores.

Hahahah. You sound just like me. Trying to track down copies of original games in a sealed state is nigh on impossible. I ordered a "new" copy of Saints Row from a retailer and it came pre-owned as the official seal was not present. Needless to say I was most displeased. I ranted at the retailer who came up with some rubbish that not all their providers get the games in a sealed state. Poppycock.

I have looked at this recently as I have missed Bioshock, GoW 1/2, Condemned 1/2 as well and they are cheap.

I must add I do not mind pre-owned so they are quiet easy to obtain.

Preferably sealed but what I meant was the original box art rather than the silly 'Classics' editions.

"I know, this game has been really successful, so let's shrink the pretty box art and cover it in horrible grey stuff!"

Edit: Have managed to find a few factory sealed copies of each on the popular auction site. Why I didn't think to check there I will never know!

Thanks for your help.

Why buy anything new when you can get it for so much cheaper?

Oh, that's right, because some people would rather buy things new.

This.

I'd rather have a new game with a known condition rather than save a few pennies on a copy that someone used as a coaster.

I've found that all my mates that trade games in tend to treat them far worse than the ones that keep them. I guess they plan on trading them in so they've no reason to keep them nice.

New every time imo.

I trade in a lot of games but I keep the boxes on the shelf untouched, and keep the games in a CD wallet that gets looked after lovingly. If you were to buy any of my games 2nd hand you would think no-one had ever played them.

Its like saying, ohhhh look theres some bread, but noo ill go out of my way to buy some.

Seriously...

is it really going to hurt your PRIDE if you just get a 2nd hand game, they do check the desks so theres so scratches or anything so its as good as new.

im guessing a single child/spoilt rich kid scenario here..

So having no knowledge of me or my background, simply because I'd rather buy games new, I'm a single child or a spoiled rich kid?

You need to lay off whatever you're smoking.

Some of us like the unwrapping experience. The thrill of taking off that shrink wrap and throwing it aside, then taking a knife to the Microsoft seal down the side.

Feel that fresh-new-game smell...mmmm.

You can buy the Bioshock steelbook new for the 360 for £14.95 on a popular etailer site. In fact it has all of the games you've asked for for £10-15, some are temporarily out of stock though.

I noticed there are quite a few retailers with them out of stock and wasn't too sure if they were out of stock for good or not, what with some of the original box art versions having their production ceased.

The retailer in question removes the buy option from stuff if they're unsure of whether they'll receive any stock again. Those games all still have the buy option as a selectable.
