OVERCLOCKED Intel Core i7 920 2.66Ghz (Nehalem) @3.33Ghz / Gigabyte EX58-UD4P Intel X58 / OCZ 6GB DDR3 PC3-12800C8 1600MHz Gold (3x2GB) Triple Channel DDR3 Bundle.

Why does one say 3.33ghz and one say 3.8 ghz? I thought that the overclocked number (from default 2.66) was simply a guarantee that it ran at the higher mhz (3.8 or 3.33ghz?) Not forgetting the fact that the noctua is better than the asaka cpu cooler yet its only 3.33!

Would be extremely greatful if somebody could explain as i intend on nipping down on Saturday to buy from the store.

Thanks

yeh, well i am wanting to hit 3.8 and that will do me fine, i just dont understand the difference in the names, as far as i can see both say "@ 3.33" or "@3.8" but only one says "**OVERCLOCKED**" which is the 3.8 one, and considering the noctua one is the better cooler and 3.8 runs fine on the gigabyte board i cant for the life of me work out why that doesnt say 3.8 and **OVERCLOCKED** like on the asaka cooler and biostar board, but instead just "@ 3.33" which is still higher than 2.66 stock :s

*takes breath*

I know both will hit 3.8 fine, but why the differences? Do OCUK clock them before they send them out or something and they just decided not to put it to 3.8, or dont they clock them atall in which case why not 3.8 for both? :s

Just trying to save myself a bit of money and looking at all the options, this being a very confusing one

I would say its easier to get a higher clock on the better cooler and mobo you say? tbh dude unless there cheaper than buying them separate then choose the bits you like.
