Buying property abroad

Anyone here who have done that? Is it possible to get mortgage in UK to buy a property abroad? If I would go through with it I'm looking at properties in the range of about 40-50K, but I wouldn't be able to save up to buy it outright at the moment so would be looking at getting a mortgage for part of it.

Not sure about the mortgage part but owned property in Turkey before, 10 years ago, was relatively easy at the time. Not sure anywhere else.

Have 3 properties abroad, but brought both for cash. I believe the issue with a UK bases mortgage is going to be potential exchange rate fluctuations / risks.... you pay in pounds but the mortgage is likely in euros... if you can get one.
