Just wanted to canvas opinion on this.

Do you believe there's any point in replacing the cables that come with your components (USB, DVI/VGA, audio etc cables) with the "better quality" brands like Belkin's PureAV?

I replaced a standard VGA cable with a PureAV one and that gave a much sharper picture with better colour representation. So when it came to getting a new optical audio cable I chose PureAV again, only to get crackly sound unless I turn my reciever off and back on again.

Just wondered what experiences you guys have had with such cabling brands?

I'd always just thought that USB cables or similar either worked or they didn't, simple as that. Audio is more debateable, some people claim they can tell the difference but in blind tests it is far less conclusive from what I've seen.

If the signal is carried I don't personally think you could tell laot of difference, only exception being if that the cable had additional shielding from interference. As for Audio, like SPW I'm not so sure. My mates dad is a total audiophile and he notices the difference betwwen cables etc. personlly though I can't.
