Question for you guys, I have seen a refurb Macbook pro on a popular auction site from an Argos outlet which appear to just sell refurb equipment.

It states its manufacturer refurbed and comes with a 12 month warranty with themselves. I just wondered how I would stand on this with Apple if there is any problems with it. Obviously I could send it back to the outlet and let them deal with it but this would obviously take some time I would imagine.

In regards with Apple and taking it in for a genius appointment what would be needed? Guess proof of purchase but not sure they would accept a auction/paypal receipt?

Also if I wanted to get Applecare on this again do you know where I would stand?

Will try get a response from the outlet but wondered if you guys would know or had first hand experience with this

Thanks

Don't believe you would need proof of purchase at an apple store unless you were buying Applecare. Repairs they just take the serial.

Thats great, kinda information I was after. Unfortunately one said on auction site has since gone. I would have wanted to get Applecare for it so was worried about proof of purchase

Have also managed to get myself sorted with a Macbook Pro as well, roll on payday!
