Buying second hand...advice please

Right, I may have the chance to buy a used MB Pro (unibody one ) if I can get the cash together. It looks mint and has two Apple discs with it (Mac OS X Install DVD and Applications Install DVD) and is running OS X 10.6?
Is it possible to completely re-install the Mac to factory settings (deleting the previous owners data etc) with these two discs and if so can someone give me pointers please?

Yeah. 10.6 is also called Snow Leopard (the newest OS).

• Simply pop in the "Mac OS X Install Disc" and reboot the machine.
• After you hear the chime hold "C" on the keyboard until you boot in to the installer.
• When you get to the initial installer screen you can go up to "Disk Utility" on the menubar and choose to "erase" the disk
• Once this is complete simply proceed through the installer and you're done.

Yes, 10.6 is "Snow Leopard".

The latest edition is currently 10.6.2.
