Buying Skylake but what to buy.

Nah I would not get a new CPU, I have a 2500k and all is fine but if you want to upgrade you might aswell get another 980Ti.

This is not just based as a upgrade its mostly a 2nd machine which will be used as my main gaming rig. Using parts I currently have. If someone can give me a spec of x99 rig with 16gig and m.2 for under 700 then I could bite. Just saying x99 with no basis means nowt to me. Cheers

Didn't really look into it but it's under 700 and meets the requirements!

Also, can't get less than 16gb on X99 as it's quad channel RAM isnt it? Or can you use dual channel too?

As I say, I didn't look into it. I literally just clicked the first thing I saw and it came to under £700.

Going by Sam logic, if you are spending £700 you may as well spend £1000 and do it properly..
