Hi,

I know the season is coming to and end but does anybody know a good website in the States to buy gear and get it sent over at a reasonable price? Gear is just too expensive in the UK.

Thanks

When you say gear, are you talking clothing or equipment? If you're looking to buy for next season i'd recommend waiting until the summer, should be plenty of deals on old/this years stock.

Equipment, Board, Bindings etc. Yeah I've already started looking and lots of stuff on sale already but not much left and still expensive , hence why I want to try get it from the States

Unless you've got a friend who is travelling across and doesn't mind using a lot of their luggage allowance then I'd suggest most of the savings will be swallowed up in transporting the goods back and/or import fees. You might also have warranty issues potentially although some firms are quite good for honoring worldwide purchases.

I don't know precisely what you're looking for of course but places like Boardwise already have a sale on much of their 2016 equipment and there seems to be quite a lot of it. e.g. just for interest a Gnu Carbon Credit snowboard is £280 in Boardwise, it's $320 at the-house.com (one of the first sites I came to) which is around £225 so you've got around £55 to play with for delivery but you've then got to factor in the hassle. Obviously savings will vary and for specific items it might be a significant saving but it seems likely to be a lot of extra effort for a fairly small gain.

Perhaps it would be easier to work out whether it's possible to save much money if you said what you thought was a reasonable price for the board/boots/bindings etc.

I always got mine from BlueTomato in the middle of the summer. Huge selection and massive discounts on the previous years models.
