I'm lookng for some additional DDR2-Ram for my PC and I came across used ones for sale which are very cheap.

Is it ok to buy used RAM (the seller claims that they are tested)?

Sure if its a good price and are tested, you can always test the memory yourself using Windows / Memtest.

Depends how much faith you have in the seller. Ram is about the most fragile thing in a computer. I've bought second hand ram, and sold ram on, all without any problems. I wouldn't buy any from someone I thought might be incompetent though.

It's a slight risk, a bit like buying 2nd hand graphics cards which are a few years old. Can just be pot luck as some ram can die in a couple of years and some will last ages.

Some of the best ram ive bought has been second hand stuff, mainly on members market on here, ive also sold several high end ram kits on here as well. The only ram ive ever had fail on me were brand new kits from crucial.
