Buying windows 8.1

Hiya all,

Where's the best place to get a digital download of windows 8.1? i've looked on the MS website but all it come up with is if i'm updating.

I don't think there is a way to digital download and buy a product key online. I had to purchase a windows 8.1 eom, but that came the next day.

Just buy win8 and update to 8.1 for free and Its cheaper just google

Have just looked on the UK microsoft website you can buy Windows 8.1 full retail version on DVD or as a download for £99.99 free delivery I've just bought the DVD version.
Didn't want the upgrade version or oem an didn't want to by a fake so got it direct from mircosoft lol.

Another option is buy Win8.1 DVD here from OcUK store,they have some good deals and ship fast too.

Got burned once buying windows 7 pro retail brand new sealed from ebay from a highly rated seller worked great for a 1 year then got the message from mircosoft saying it was illegal copy of windows.
So not taking any chances this time bought it direct from Microsoft.

Have windows 8.1 full version retail box on DVD from Microsoft Ireland ordered on Sunday 27th delivered on 29th great.

Hi all, I'm looking to upgrade from Windows 7 to 8.1. If I buy from the MS store (it's only $120) the digital download, does it just come as an .exe? I don't have a DVD drive in my laptop, so I won't be able to burn an iso file or anything. Any thoughts?

Also, can I upgrade without reinstalling any apps or losing files? Will apps installed on a 2nd HDD still work?

Sorry can't help I never buy upgrade O/S my full retail copy installed very quick had no problems like the fact that I didn't need to install any drivers everything worked straight away on my 2 year old Shuttle XPC.
