Hey,

Just recently bought a new MSI GTX 970 during black firday sales from OCUK.

Having a problem now since installing it.

Over the past weeks, whenever i'm going into a game and my graphics card is being used, my microphone is producing a buzzing noise in the background.

Im using a Xonar DG sound card and a steel series Siberia vs headset.

my previous card (msi gtx 570) didn't have any issues and it seems to only be caused when my new graphics card is being utilized.

Even with onboard sound disabled.

have tried to use onboard sound but my microphone has a lot of background noise when on desktop using onboard when speaking with friends on skype/teamspeak.

I've read people saying that is could be EMI? I've also seated my soundcard as far away from the graphics card aswell.

I'm stuck and dont know what to do as i cant play games with friends anymore as this noise is bothersome.

Late reply but i know a lot of people will be looking for how to resolve this problem.

I managed to find out what was causing this problem and have now got rid of it. My soundcard was directly below my GPU in the first pci slot. I moved this down to the 2nd PCI slot to make the distance greater to see if this would fix it to which it didn't help at all.

I fixed this problem by unscrewing the screws so they're really loose and for some reason this has fixed the problem all together. I think maybe that having them screwed in was causing some sort of interference with my case or the GPU but ever since i have loosened them the problem has gone.
