Hi all

I brought a new printer and the power adapter is buzzing a feint but HIGH pitch buzz. Its driving me nutts. Is there something i should be worried about? and should i be able to return it / get a replacement?

I think it only does this on standby power save mode

Thanks in advance

One reason more to not leave unnecessary devices to stand by...

theres 5 of us in a small office with laptops. wireless printer in standby saves us power when we dont need to print. we just hit print it turns on and prints then turns off after 5 mins.

It seems like a lot of device's PSUs do this, but it also seems random as you get some identical equipment that does squeal and doesn't even though it has been used for roughly the same amount of time.

I think once something starts squealing/whining their is no way to stop it short of replacing it/turning it off, but even then the new PSU might be doing it from the start if you are unlucky.

pretty off topic of me, but what bertie was saying was... there will be no wwIV???? or was it the nuclear ideal that if we use so many devastating weapons we will be sent back to the stone age?! :P clever guy al was.
