Buzzing through audio output during gameplay

Recently I installed an Asus 5770 CuCore into my PC, and I noticed that whenever I've played levels in game of L4D/2 through my headset+mic there is a distinct yet mild constant buzz, but during the menus/loading screens there is no buzz.

Explanation and fix? I can only assume that going into 3D mode makes some form of electronic interference through the audio signal somewhere.

Also it is susceptible to the odd freeze then continue game play in said game. Running on the 10.3s
