Buzzing through headset Mic?

Hey, Hope someone can help me. My microphone is making a loud buzzing noise when plugged into my sound card. It doesn't seem to do it when plugged into somewhere else though. Any suggestions what could be wrong?

That really sucks :/ It seems to do it on and off. I'll try cleaning and reseating it to see if it makes any difference. but my friends are finding it really irritating...

I bought it from Overclockers in march. The noise is exactly as timber says. Sounds like theres a lawnmower in the distance. Sometimes it's not there and it's only just started happening recently. :/ Gonna try different power outlets as well but I think running the mic through my motherboard may be the only option.

Well I just did a fresh re-install of the drivers from Asus's website and it seems to have helped quite a lot. How long it will last for is another question though :/ Can keep you updated if anyone wants me to.

Edit: Never mind. It got rid of the hiss through my headset but no the buzz through the microphone
