I am using an old creative sub and speakers (about 20years old) and they are plugged into a Creative AE-5 plus sound card. They work perfectly and the sound quality is still pretty good when playing music in Windows via Spotify or YouTube etc.
When I load up any game, with the exception of a couple of old titles, I get buzzing and interference through the speakers, which makes most games unplayable through speakers. The buzzing stops when I turn the Sub off and it is fine when playing on headphones.
Does anyone have any ideas what is causing it? Is it just the age of the sub?
