BX2450 / P2450H (Urgent)

FFS. Was just gonna order the BX2450 but I read reviews that it doesnt come with a UK power adapter, just a euro 2 pin. And I can't buy a euro 2 pin to 3 pin adapter without knowing what shape the end plug is >:/

Just received my monitor today, delivered by parcelforce, nobody was in so dropped at my local post office, easy pick up. No fuss.
Thankyou ******.

This monitor is the sexiest looking thing ever! love the delicate touch controls on the bottom.

To clear up other reviews this monitor comes with...

1x HDMI - DVI cable
1x VGA cable
1x USA - UK power cable
1x power block.

mind blowing picture compared to my old 19" acer.

look forward to watching some HD mkv's!

amazing

Should be ok?

Surely it's just a kettle lead that plugs into the power pack? Easy to change out.

My Asus MW221u came with a european 2 pin, was easily resolved.

I dunno. I'm impatient and don't want to have to wait another day in case I have to order a replacement cable/adapter. lol.

If it is one of those cables, then I guess you can just use any normal Monitor/PSU power cable as a replacement? But I thought when it says on amazon the monitor comes with a 2 pin plug, it's one of the 2 pin mains adapters, rather than the 3 pin we use in the UK.

Bought the BX2450 a couple of months ago, could'nt be happier. superb monitor and looks great.

didn't come with a UK adapter but we had plenty lying about in the house.

shouldn't be a factor when choosing between a monitor.

So what is it that was actually missing? Is the cable that comes from the power brick to the mains plug an EU one? Like this...?

And out of internet, what adapter did you buy.
Also, is the eu cable that came with yours capable of having the plug removed and replaced with a 3 pin plug and 10A fuse?

what are the actual differences between these two? i'm finding it hard to tell apart from each other..

Dunno. BX2450 is LED. Very slim. Has 2 HDMI rather than 1. Has a much better stand and footprint, plus a very thin bezel and sexy design. If the BX2450 didn't look so much cooler to me than the p2450 I would have settled with the cheaper monitor. Personally, I can't stand cheap looking monitors (P2450 is NOT cheap looking, but the BX2450 is just so much nicer) - e.g. stuff like Iiyama and Benq. For example, I would rather buy (if I had the money) a £500 24" monitor that looks sexy than a £500 30" monitor that looks cheap and has a bad stand.

When i'm gonna be looking at something very often, like a monitor, I want it to look good. Everything about the P2450 says Quality, but everything about the BX2450 says Premium; I really do love the design of it.

The colour reproduction, accuracy and variety of shades of the BX2450 cannot compare to more expensive panel types - but for a TN panel it is one of the best monitors out there. The Samsung P2450H tends to produce an image that is more vivid but less varied, less accurate and less natural than what the BX2450 produces. Bare in mind that you're comparing a P2450H which was only ever a sub £200 (temporary priceflation notwithstanding) with the BX2450 that widely retailed at over £250 until very recently. If you want more of an idea about what to expect from the BX2450 take a look at this review of its smaller sibbling.

I reserved a matsui-3-pin-uk-to-c7-c8-cable just in case. Is this what I'd need if a UK power cable did not come with it?

Presumably if it came with a European 2-pin plug you'd need a Euro travel adaptor. And I'd remove the competitor link from your post. :)

as it happens my order of the P2450 didn't seem to go through last night, and now i am considering switching to the BX2450. does anyone know if ocUk plan to stock them any time soon? also, i've read a couple of reviews of there being driver compatibility issues for certain graphics cards with this model. pcm, don't suppose you know anything about this?

It was not specific to the BX2450 and has been resolved in Catalyst driver version 10.10 and above. I also believe tweaking a few settings in the CCC helped most people with earlier driver versions. I had no such issues on my 5850 when testing the BX2350.

you ordered the BX2450 yosiah? do you mind me asking where you purchased from and for a little more feedback? what is your main use going to be?
