I've not checked the usage. But Im upgrading the Cpu and Mobo soon. I made a thread.but Im hoping BD is going to beat the 2500k.
I will probably crossfire say February. Id say the budget is 150 + whatever the card sells for
nice. what about the 480. an older card but they seem immense, and cheaper then 6850.
Just put my 460 on fleebay. Its served me well but after Dues Ex running bad on max. I need to upgrade. Looking at the 6950 or 570. What's better really...
Get a 6950 with the two games. I bought the MSI 6950 2gb, runs fantastic at 1920 x 1080 . Like someone said if you don't want the games, sell them on and make the card even cheaper !!!
Get a 5850!!!
I've been playing deus ex on this card (everything on high).
Its excellent.
Save your money!
You can make a 480 run almost as efficient as 6950 whilst providing greater than 6950 performance. The original GTX480 bios was replaced by a more efficient revision, and even that bios can be tweaked even further. See here. They are very good indeed as I know since I have one, though a reference model will have substantially higher power consumption and possibly more noise. Though to be fair not all 6950's are necessarily what you might regard as quiet, it depends on the cooler. As mentioned, there are different reasons to consider both a 570 and 6950 over the 480.
