Both are pretty similar. The 570 is probably a touch faster overall, but the 6950 scales very well in crossfire if you were wanting to add a second later down the line.
The HIS 6950 2Gb is on offer for £199.99 with 2 games. Brilliant value, you could always sell the games on and make the card even cheaper. The 570 is still quite expensive, personally too expensive for what it is.

Have you actually checked your GPU usage when you had low frame rate? I could have been your CPU being the bottleneck, considering it's only dual-core.
Have already seen someone with overclocked Phenom II X2 bottlenecking even a 6870 in BFBC2, and frame rate rocketed after he unlocked two extra cores...

I've not checked the usage. But Im upgrading the Cpu and Mobo soon. I made a thread.but Im hoping BD is going to beat the 2500k.

6950 it is then. Scales brilliantly in CF and isn't that much slower than a 570, despite being significantly cheaper.

480 brand new is about £300 odd quid now....
You can get one from refurb for £199 and they are great!
But you pay a price heat and power draw!
570 basically got rid of these issues, its a revamped 480 so best off getting the 570 if your considering the nvidia route. But if cost is an issue for you get a 6950
less power lower temps and great performance!

less power lower temps and great performance!They are very good indeed as I know since I have one, though a reference model will have substantially higher power consumption and possibly more noise. Though to be fair not all 6950's are necessarily what you might regard as quiet, it depends on the cooler. As mentioned, there are different reasons to consider both a 570 and 6950 over the 480.

Is the msi one you purchased the Twin frozR III one? I was thinking of purchasing this one myself and setting up eyefinity...
Also... Are these actual games or digital versions we download? I presume the latter .... Either way I would still sell em on eBay and get some cash back

460/5850 are almost on par to be honest, it wouldn't be an upgrade, it would be a waste of money (imo).
You can make a 480 run almost as efficient as 6950 whilst providing greater than 6950 performance. The original GTX480 bios was replaced by a more efficient revision, and even that bios can be tweaked even further. See here.

I have a SOC 480 which I appreciate run somewhat less power hungry than a reference 480, but this looks like in theory I can reduce it even more. Once again, thanks.
I have an i5 @ 4.7, 8gb ram, gtx570 and play deus ex:hr at max everything with no slowdown. Can't comment on the other card but see it mentioned A LOT on here so it can't be bad. From reviews it looks like the 570 is a bit faster but handles things like tessalation etc better.
However running crysis2 with dx11 effects on, on my systems brings the speed down quiet a lot, but as soon as I turn v-sync off everything is good again.
