Just hope they build something big , like a coaster accross the valley, after a few years of nothing major, there due it!

After an amazing 28 years of operation, the time has come to bid farewell to the UK's most iconic rollercoaster - The Corkscrew. Unveiled to a crowd of over 30,000 in April 1980, the ride has since carried over 43,449,840 guests through it's double helix. A special day of celebration will be held on Sunday 9th November, which will be the last ever day the Corkscrew will operate. Book now to avoid disappointment.

People have been see wondering around there making notes, and marking trees, they must have got something up there sleave for the 2010 sesaon.

Im going for 3rd time this year on the 21st., I will ride her a few times, yeh babeh :)

First time I went on it was around the mid 80's and it was amazing!

Last time I went on it was last year at the age of 32. I nearly fell asleep.

In its day it was a really good ride but just goes to show how things have moved on.

Wouldnt mind owning a bit of the track :)

I agree, I actually prefer rides that are short, but have a huge rush of excitement, such as Rita and Oblivion :D

Although Nemesis is still the best ride there, hands down :D

think i went on it in 83, i was 10, i still go on it when i go, very short ques, walk on even. Its very rough these days, shakes you about, but its still worth a go.

I just wish they would do something with the black hole tent thats stood empty for 3-4 years

The best ride there is Air, by far.. though Nemesis comes close, as does Rita..

Will miss the Corkscrew, though to be honest it pales in comparison to the newer rides :(

Oblivion is great, why take that down?

Just boring, I've only been to Towers once, and this was earlier this year....And that was only mt second theme park...first one was disney land!

It just, wasen't that amazing...I qued for pretty much a decade, and it was over in about a minute...and 5 seconds of that minute was the actual falling part.

I found Air more fun, although yes it could be faster...you should be standing up in it more as well ;)

I hope it will be replaced with something good! :)

Hopefully a new coaster won't give you brain damage every time you ride it, unlike corkscrew :p

Glad to see it go tbh.

Went on it the last time I went to AT and my colar bones were absolutly destroyed after going on it...Hard plastic + Bone = Ouch!

Also lost my jacket on it ...was gutted :(

Hope they build something bigger, better, faster and stronger.
