And thats from a sync at 4.7k....good `ol throttling :(

So,best non-llu isp for gaming and general net duties?

Correct,no LLU providers at my exchange (shorne),so i`m stuck with adsl.

Currently looking at O2/BT,anyone on these give any idea how things are?

I left Entanet and went to O2 but requested my MAC within 2 weeks. My pings in the evenings were 130ms to UK servers and download speeds sometimes went as low as 0.6MB during the evenings. When I phoned up o2 I was told that they don't support gaming...
I moved from o2 to Plusnet and although I was only connected 2 days ago the connection, speeds and pings has been rock solid. Their support is also excellent. I raised a ticket on their website to disable interleaving and I received a reply within 2 hours.
Also, it's completely unlimited between mid-night - 8am so I shedule all of my downloads overnight. Plusnet do have traffic management/throttling in place (except on their Pro package which is only 15GB allowance) but they explain it all on their website and it only effects download ports and sites (p2p, binary usenet, download sites and servers). Gaming and web browsing during the day has been extremely quick.
Plusnet also have a 90 day money back guarantee with a monthly contract (unless you chose to have the free router).

I have excellent gaming pings with Sky, I cant get the cheap O2 deal now looking at BT Broadband to see if I can get a a better deal for broadband and phone.

GsDog,that sound like how it was when i was with Aquiss....was handy that having a 300gig overnight allowance.
Does any left over allowance from the 30gig carry over or does it start from scratch at the beginning of each month?

Certainly interested in more info, anything else you could pass on? :)

P.s

Where in kent are you bty?

After reading this I also did a Speedtest. This is O2 Access using teh O2 Box2 witha sync 7264 kbps

Far worse than my previous Pipex package. Got to decided if I stick it out and hope it improves, or migrate within my 30 day limit. As even with the Quidco deal I could pay similar at Pipex/Tiscali for better performance.

I don't think any left over allowance gets carried over to the following month. You can find information about the throttling and expected speeds on their website; http://www.plus.net/support/broadband/quality_broadband/speed.shtml
I like it because they are completely honest about their throttling unlike most ISP's. They will not allow heavy downloaders to effect gaming, browsing, streaming, etc.
Plusnet isn't for everyone but for me personally it's perfect. Gaming and browsing has priority over downloading during the day and speeds even at peak times so far have been solid.
I'm starting on the Option 3 package for a month to see how much I download (they have an excellent usage tool on their website which shows how much you have downloaded and what percentage of service used the most bandwidth, etc) and if I download less than 15GB during the day then I will change to the Pro package.

All the info you need is on the website.

I'm in Tunbridge Wells (not on the Tunbridge wells exchange though :( so no LLU for me).

Thanks for the reply :)

Well,one question i have is i noticed there`s a gamers package with a 15 gig allowance,is that a massive difference game wise from the 30gig option 3?

I'm not sure. I know that gaming has a higher priority on the network on the Pro (15GB) package but I am on Option 3 and gaming has been perfect. I have only been on it for a few days though so it's still early days.
I think the biggest difference is that the Pro package has no throttling.

GSDog is their p2p, usenet etc throttled during the free off peak time? or is it only during the day.

Everything is unthrottled overnight on the option 2, 3 and Pro packages. I downloaded 20GB on my first night, downloads were a solid 830kB/sec all night on Astraweb/usenet.
All the info you need about the throttling and management, etc. is available here; http://www.plus.net/support/broadband/quality_broadband/index.shtml

I had interleaving disabled today and my pings are now 11ms to BBC, etc! by far the lowest I have ever had.
