Bye bye Volition Games

I'm sad to see them go, but not at all surprised after the last two titles they released. Agents of Mayhem was average at best and I have no idea who the audience was supposed to be for their Saints Row reboot.

Shame given the plethora of otherwise fantastic games.

Read about it today and it's sad news indeed.

I enjoyed all their Saints Row games up until the 4th game and thought the series offered a fun alternative to the more serious GTA games.

I remember when Derek Smart tried to buy the Freespace IP some years back, he was loudly told to jog on.

Very sad news. Descent was my first ever PC game back when they were known as Parallax Software. I've played through all of the Descent games including the Freespace series, they were utterly brilliant.

I hadn't realised these guys were Parallax... Descent is a game that will be in my all time top 10... so much fun playing that.

Remember him over at Bluesnews, when he took the bait and claimed 'only he' would ever be making a Freespace 3.

Doubtlessly somebody should, old much loved titles they can overhype seem to be the top selling product these days. Sad news over Volition though, Conflict Freespace was the titled that wowed me when i got a gaming PC back in 98.... that intro.

Used to love Red Faction & Saints Row but had absoultely no desire to play the reboot - it looked like a step backwards in so many areas. Hopefully they land on their feet.
