I still have an Athlon 64 FX-55 which works. An example of a proper FX CPU.

It would be a shame if that over-priced piece of marketing hype, that was the 9590, is the last hurrah for FX moniker.
It may just as well be a rebrand going on. Like when AMD bought ATI and later phased the name of their GPUs from ATI to AMD. Perhaps they have a new name for their CPU lineup to get rid of some of the bad press that the current FX lineup has.
