Bypass bitlocker?

Hello a friend of mine has asked me if they is away to bypass a tablet/laptop.
So how his mum managed to lock the drive using bitlocker so access to the computer requires a password.

The way I have said would be to just replace the hard drive and reinstall windows.
Any other method?

No need to replace the drive. A diskpart clean will remove all existing partitions and eradicate Bitlocker. Obviously you'll lose all data in the process.
