i just installed a Philips hue lamp.

I have a one off switch by the door and a dimmer switch in the kitchen.

I want to bypass the dimmer because the Philips lamp needs to have a non dimmed supply.

The switch has a COMM, L1 and L2. So if I understand it right I just need to bridge L2 to L2 and leave the comm alone and we are done?

Bridging L2 to L2 isn't going to do much... :D

I'd just remove the L2 wire from the switch. That way the dimmer isn't even hooked up.

Why don't you just replace the dimmer switch with a normal switch, connecting it up exactly the same?

This, wouldn't the connection coming in be exactly the same? The capability for the dimming is in the switch not in the wiring. The wiring is just simple 1 or 0
on or off.

Just change the dimming switch to a normal one and you should be okay.

problem is its a 4 gang switch and It would be nice to keep the dimming function on the other 4 channels but I may as well do that as I want to replace all bulbs with Philips hue
