Hi All,
My Acer Revo Aspire 3600 has started getting noisy recently and the fan spins constantly on max. It appears as though the motherboard is reporting that the CPU temp is 120C / 238F which surely can't be the case as the system is responsive and would have melted something by now?
I have changed the thermal paste and reflashed the bios to all available versions.
I presume the CPU termperature sensor is faulty which is why SMART runs the fan at max.
Speedfan reports the CPU temp at 58C (?) but hasn't been able to slow the fan.
I could buy a fan controller or step the fan voltage down. I thought I would ask in case anyone knew of a firmware fix?
Thanks for your time!
