C&C 3 flame tanks?

I was playing someone just now who sent a flame tank into my base and destroyed my construction yard in just over 10 seconds with one flame tank.....
Is this normal? i know it says that they're strong against structures but for a base unit thats not quite right surely? Especially since the construction yard is the strongest building
Or am i just being paranoid? :confused:

Are sure that your construction yard was at 100% health before the flame tank attacked it ?

Oh yes i'm sure - we were only a few mins into the game. It was the first unit to attack me. I watched the replay and all he did was create a few refineries and then sent in one flame tank....im slightly suspicious but meh

Yup i know, rush tactics are annoying. I'd rather both sit back, fight a little in the middle for tiberium, then have a massive battle......but no, most of the people online just rush attack me and i can never cope

Rushing is annoying, but so long as you assume every person you play is going to do it, you oughta be ok.
Were you not repairing the structure as he attacked? If he had long enough to build a tank, surely you had time to buid a vehicle defense tower?

best bet is to build a tank of your own and a sentry tower thing to take out infantry, that way you have anti soldier and anti tank capabilities fairly quickly in the game

never played C&C3 online tho

That is true i did, but thats not the point

i've never had anyone hit me that early on with one tank before - the GDI base defenses are useless before you tech up

this is why i dont play strategy games online any more, ist just "build tanks - ATTACK!"

I like a bit of strategy in my games, it takes me a good few hours to win levels in CoH purely because i enjoy taking my time, keeping units alive and capturing all the zones.

I may get RA2 out though, see if i can get an online game working and get a few mates to join in!
