C&C Red Alert 3 Announced

EA said last week that they were going to announce something big in the C&C universe very soon, looks like it was a new addition to the RA series. Now i'm not sure if EA have officially released the news yet, looks like PC Gamer (US) has more info on it in their next issue and would imagine the UK version of the mag will do the same.

I loved Red Alert 2, really addictive and had some great multiplayer games. Hope they can get some of the magic back with number 3, C&C 3 was decent but hope they can improve on it with this one.

When I first read the thread title, I was excited.

After I realised it would almost definately be on a 3D engine, I was disappointed.

Yep. C&C3 was alright to play skirmishes on but the SP was the biggest load of pish i've ever played. So boring.

Would love to see a really high quality 2d engine, but sadly it just isn't going to happen

I played the last CnC game and had 'CNC3.dat' error message along with a 'd3d' error message. no fix has been sorted despite a 60 page thread on its official forum, so I'll stay clear of this game

I don't mind it being 3D, if its more along the lines of SupCom than the Generals engine.

Would still prefer to see this in 2D though.

What did you not like about the Generals engine? Personally I thought it was fine, it was the fact that there were better games out that put me off of Generals.

It was too zoomed in for my liking, the games didn't seem large enough for my liking.

Are you fully patched up to date? I had that error at first, but a week later they released a patch that solved the problem

Will wait for screens/more info before I jump on the EA hating bandwagon just yet.

True, I had the same problem with DoW. Enjoy the game, just doesn't feel right after supreme commander.

Red Alert 2 being played in 1920x1200 is hilarious

You can see half the map.
