Hi all

Im a big fan of the C&C series but wasnt able to get c and c4 as my comp wouldnt run it.I have got a new comp now but am wondering wether it was worth the £12.99 as it has had some pants reviews.

Cheers

Martyn

I didnt buy it even being a life long C&C fan. Reviews were terrible and it looked truely awful to play, nothing like a C&C game.

Nope its not worth 9 pence in my opinion. Unfortunately EA pulled funding on it about 1/3 of the way through development and they had to finish it on a shoe string. They tried to be ambitious by getting rid of base building and trying new gameplay mechanics but in the end it did'nt feel like a C&C game (abit like SupCom 2 isnt much like SupCom anymore) and the ending is apparently a massive anti-climax.

A real shame as it would have been nice to get a C&C swansong. Doubt we'll see a new game under this IP on a series gaming system for a few years now.

I thought to myself that it honestly couldn't be that bad so I borrowed it just to see. It is. It really, really is that bad. That is 40 minutes of my life wasted installing, testing and deleting it that I will never get back :(

I bought for £18 thinking it couldnt be that bad.

Why not finish the story I thought?

I've played it twice, and probably wont again. Ever.

Really poor and not c n c.

Just as a testament to how bad it is, i'm really quite a C&C fanboy. Grew up on the things.

But since Generals it's been going downhill. C&C3 was acceptable, but meh. RA3 was crap, but less crap than C&C4 - but that's like asking if you'd rather have a kick in the nuts or a kick in the teeth.

C&C is a prime example of how a greedy corporation can completely ruin a fantastic gaming series.

i agree with everything you said apart from i havent played C&C4 due to the terrible reviews.

Well that settles that one then.I think i will go and reinstall generals zero hour instead.
I wish EA never bought Westwood and ruined C&C :)

Nope.

It's quite funny when EA post anything on their C&C FB page - they instantly get hundreds of comments along the lines of "load of crap" and "this isn't true C&C".

I remembered them announcing a patch and the first comment was "are you adding proper base building?" - so true, sadly. :(

I just didn't like some of the changes made to the game engine. The game engine had a unique 'feel' to it that I felt kinda got lost when they updated it. I feel exactly the same way about the Age of Empires series too (only like 1&2) and the Close Combat game series. I am rather weird about these type of things. :p
