I'm thinking of upgrading my 2015 Corsa to something more cruisey. I'm looking at a few other cars as well but quite liked this. Does anyone know if these cars are reliable or if I could possibly asking for big bills.

That gen of C-Class (W204) always seemed low rent to me inside for a Mercedes. The W205 is much better, but I'm sure will be a fair bit pricier too. What's your budget? Mileage? Spec requirements? Etc.

Around £8000 and something comfortable. Dual air con is a must due to my missus, lumbar support due to my back, an alright sound system I don't think you can get worse than the vauxhall sound system. definitely 5 door. I'm really not after performance, it is something I might crave when I am sans children.

I have seen so far,

Ford Focus Titanium X 2014 1.0 ecoboost which my mechanic friend says to check it has had the recall done.

A few C-Class mercs

A Volvo C30 2.0 R design Lux 2013 (s door though)

All around 50000 - 70000miles

Astra, Focus, Golf, Civic etc would offer a better example for the money. Missus may have other ideas! :p

Another mention for the Superb. I know it's a Skoda, but they are really Superb and come in a vast range of engines, hatchback (but look slike a saloon) and estate.

You can get a nic elegance/Lauren and Klement, etc model with all the bells and whistles, (previous generation), or probably for your money an early present gen car.

Would you buy a Volvo V40 Petrol with FSH and cambelt done but with 109000 miles.

Surely you can do better than that for 8k?

It may help if you gave us something more to go on too. How many miles do you do a year would be helpful? Asking for something a bit more "cruisey" when you're coming from a Corsa really doesn't narrow it down much!

For that brief I'd certainly be going Skoda Octavia or Superb. Both excellent cars and well equipped.
My money would go on the Superb.

I had to lower my budget to £6500 :(. I couldn't find anything I liked Skoda wise even though I would have loved an Octavia. There was nothing else that really floated my boat.

I think I am going to plump for the fully specced Focus, 2014 60000 FSH 1.0 ecoboost which I'm almost certain has had the coolant pipe changed.

It ticks a lot of boxes for me.

What does a HPI check look for that the autotrader checks don't?
